Nova Schroeder is the owner and operator of Stellar Investigations, LLC. Prior to establishing Stellar Investigations in 2015, Nova graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2009, with a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice.
During and after graduation, Nova completed a year-long internship with the Arapahoe County Public Defender's Office, and was hired as a Criminal Defense Investigator in 2010.
While employed at Public Defender's Office, Nova worked both misdemeanor and felony cases throughout the 18th Judicial District, including DUI, Indecent Exposure, Possession, Burglary, Sex Assault, and First Degree Murder.
From 2012 to 2015, as a Public Defender Senior Criminal Defense Investigator, Nova was the lead fact investigator on a highly publicized capital case.
Fighting against the death penalty provided Nova an unparalleled experience/look into the judicial system and capital defense investigations.
Nova was nominated Investigator of the Year in 2014, received the Terry Break Scholarship in 2012, and holds certification in the Component Method of Investigations from the Criminal Defense Investigation Training Council. Nova is additionally a member of the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado (PPIAC), the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar (CCDB), and is ADC, CJA, and ORPC approved.
In 2016, Nova and her fellow capital defense team members were awarded Abolitionists of the Year by the Coloradans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty.
2019 most notably celebrated Nova and her fellow defense team members exonerating an innocent client charged with First Degree Murder.
2025 marks ten years in business for Stellar Investigations and fifteen years in criminal defense investigations for Nova.
